This has been one o those {of those} weekends. Maybe it's hormonal, maybe it's the moon, the alignment o the {of the} stars but I eel stuck {feel}, just like my F Key!!!
I can't seem to move orward {forward}, onto those new projects that have been on my wish list for quite some time. Sometimes I feel like mama here, who just endures.
However, on the way to the grocery store {2 minutes from the house} last night Brian and I saw this lady walking her two donkeys {we live in the country, remember?}, so since both of us have wanted a miniature Jerusalem donkey for quite awhile we stopped and talked with the owner.
We stood chit chatting about donkies of course and she answered all the little questions we had, while her two companions waited pretty as you please, each on a leash while we scratched their heads.
As it turns out she's also a soapmaker who has dairy goats! Alrighty then, now you know my interestes were peaked, especailly since I am looking to invest in two dairy goats myself and I haven't got the darndest idea what I'm doing!! She gladly offered her help and advice, which I will be taking her up on very soon, I will keep you updated.
{last year's crop}On another note I'm on the ball this year and have already started our lettuce seeds. Here's how to tell if your left over seeds from last year are still good, before planting them into the dirt:
I had photos of this, but it was on the other computer which is going through defrag right now, sorry.
- Find a small container to place the seeds in, I used a disposable casserole container.
- Dampen two sheets of paper toweling or toilet paper and place the seeds on top, cover with another layer of paper towel and lightly spray warm water on the toweling.
- Cover the whole thing with saran wrap and place on top of the refrigerator.
- Make sure you check the moisture level every day, you just want it damp. No artificial lights are needed at this point. After a few days you should see something, it took the swiss chard a bit longer than the lettuce.
That simple. Happy seeding!!!
